Fully Restored Vintage Henri Selmer Paris Albert System Bb Clarinet (1926–1929, SN: K4029) – Low Pitch
For sale is a beautifully restored Henri Selmer Paris Bb Albert System (Simple System) clarinet from the late 1920s (Serial number K4029, featuring the 1926 Selmer logo change).
Selmer Albert system clarinets from this era are famous among players for their astonishingly rich, warm, and beautiful low register (chalumeau register). Unlike many models from this period featuring a wrap-around register key, this clarinet features a straight register key.
Combined with a fresh, high-end overhaul, this instrument is ready for the stage or studio — perfect for Traditional Jazz, Klezmer, and Balkan music players looking for authentic vintage tone with modern reliability.
Key Features & Details:
- Pitch: Low Pitch (A = 440 Hz) – fully playable with modern ensembles.
- Register Key: Straight register key configuration.
- Pads: Brand new premium kangaroo leather pads throughout for outstanding sealing, soft feel, and longevity. Cork pad on register key.
- Wood: Premium Grenadilla wood in great condition – no cracks!
- Barrel: Original, uncut 67 mm barrel. (Note: Has a few minor chips inside the bore — see photo; cosmetic/internal only and does not affect playability).
- Keywork & Features:
- Improved / Articulated G#/C# mechanism (fully functional).
- Throat G#: Complete and functional with a custom/homemade adjustment screw (see photo).
- Missing: Left-hand Eb/Ab alternative touchpiece/lever.
- Case: Includes a hard case (likely non-original).
Price: DKK 12,000 / Approx. €1,625 / $1,825 USD (+ shipping / PayPal fees if applicable).

Important Note:
Please “break in” the clarinet gently. I recommend playing it for around 30 minutes a day—and no more—for the first month. The wood needs a little time to wake up and safely get used to humidity changes again.
